Workforce Development and School Nurse Practice

This is a new community of practice which is open to School Nurses and members of their skilled mixed team who are delivering the Healthy Child Programme. Our Inaugural Survey of School Nursing – The Forgotten Frontline revealed the challenges faced by school nursing services across the UK resulting from disinvestment and struggles with recruitment and retention. In the survey, school nurses shared examples of good practice and innovation which demonstrated resilience and determination to deliver the best for school-age children and young people. This COP is an opportunity to build on this work and develop resources for the school nursing community to share.
