Collectively, we are building a resilient food and farming network. As we work on our farms and the land, we must have moments where we can connect and share our knowledge. As big corps circle around us, in both weather and political extremes, we use the power found in peer to peer knowledge exchange as we strengthen our love of soil and nature. We root for each other, to watch each other grow.
The OGG is growing alliances between organic farming networks, platforming growers voices for a more resilient community farming future, as part of a ripening food and land justice movement.
To create a viable future, we invite the young ones into our growing event, as they will be our future farmers. Sowing seeds whilst they are young. Find the ‘Young Growers Plot’ where there will be practical, fun and inspirational landy workshops. We encourage thinking about the next generation becoming knowledgable at healthy land-based activities.
As members of Hardwick, where organic agriculture has been a focus and nurtured, the farmers, growers, businesses, projects, crafters and residents here will welcome you onto this land we share. The gathering will continue to have tours hosted by Tolhurst Organic CIC, one of the longest running organic farms in the UK renowned for pioneering, ethical stock free organic standards. Set in the beautiful South Oxfordshire countryside.

WHAT TO BRING?
➣ CASH as the card readers in the fields can be temperamental. There will not be a cash point at the event.
➣ TOOLS to sharpen and show.
➣ SEEDS to bring to the seed swap and more
➣SOIL to sample and test under the microscope
➣ YOUR IDEAS for the Breakout Space, bring your experiments, your farm hack machinery and more to share your learnings with others.
➣ STUFF like t-shirts and items to screen print.
➣ A MUG! Let's avoid using disposable cups, cause they ain't so environmental, really.
➣ PLATE & CUTLERY could be useful at times.
➣ GOOD BOOTS are essential as there will be uneven ground. Check the weather before you get here, maybe you even need wellies and waterproofs, who knows!
➣ SUN PROTECTION so things like sun hats, thin shirts and extra tarps for tent shade cover.
➣ WARM CLOTHES for nighttime, even though the days get hot it can get cold at night, even bring an extra blanket and ground cover sheets for your tents.
➣ HEAD TORCH as not all the paths will be lit up, and bring your other good trusty outdoors gear.
➣ SWIMSUIT for the outdoors showers or if you're up for a dip in the river just down the path!
➣ CAMPING bring the gear that will keep you cool, warm and dry; tents, sleeping bags, ground sheets, as well as tarps for creating shade.
BREAKOUT SPACE
This year we will have a dedicated tent to facilitate a 'Breakout Space'.
So have a think about what you would like to bring with you, write your suggestions on a postcard and submit them in the box when you arrive.
It can be a topic, a problem you are wrestling with, or if you just think more people ought to appreciate your latest invention. Maybe a discussion should be had at the gathering and this would be the place to get this shared.
NO DOGS/PETS
We kindly ask you not to bring dogs or other animals to the event. This is hard for us to ask of you, however it's going to be a busy place, with food and children to also think of, as well as live-stock closeby and crops to care for. Thank you for your understanding. There might be a few dogs about that live on the estate as this is their home.
REFUND POLICY
We can allocate a certain amount of refunds. Refunds are available 30 days before the event. After that, we can only agree refunds if our budget can afford it, on a case by case basis, as we will have already invested in your arrival at the event. We cannot issue last minute refunds due to extreme weather.
