Information on Training - Please read carefully before booking

For Parents/Carers of autistic teenagers.

We ask that all parents/carers attend our Practical Understanding of Autism programme before advancing through other training offered by PAS. This also includes parents/carers who have been registered for some time but have not attended training within the previous 2-3 years, so we can ensure that everyone has the most up to date thinking and approach for supporting our children and young people.

We know that autistic young people often tell us they are motivated to create and maintain meaningful relationships with peers and others in their lives and we know that parents/carers are looking for information and guidance to support them.

This session will focus on the differences in communication that some autistic individuals have which can impact social relationships.

We will explore the reasons for this, how we can take a strengths-based approach to support this and help parents to develop skills and help set motivating and realistic goals along with their young people to develop positive relationships in all aspects of life.

The session will cover theory, lived experiences, practical approaches for support and group discussion.
