This family event, targeted at children aged 4-12 years, will showcase the amazing red squirrels that call the grounds of Fyvie Castle their home. Participants will learn what squirrel field signs are, what squirrels need to survive and why it is important to conserve this iconic species, finished with themed games to celebrate all things squirrel.

Is this event suitable for wheels?

While some sections of the trail are level and graded, other sections have roots, rocks, and uneven ground. Additionally, there are several steps up to the start of the trail. Please get in touch if you have questions regarding accessibility.

Is this event dog-friendly?

We are unable to accommodate dogs at this event so that we have a better chance of spotting squirrels along the way.

Will this event go ahead in bad weather?

The walk will proceed as planned in wet weather, so please come prepared with waterproofs and wellies. In the event of extreme weather (i.e. high winds or flooding), the event will be cancelled and attendees will be notified.
