POW80 – 80th Anniversary Event of the Liberation of WWII Prisoners of War

Welcome to POW80! Join us at The Midland as we commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Allied anglophone prisoners of war held in Europe during WWII. This in-person event brings together relatives, researchers and interested parties to share stories and make connections, as well as to learn from expert speakers about the life and sacrifices the POWs endured. The event will cover topics such as the POW experience, life in the camps, work assignments, escape and evasion, the long march, liberation, and repatriation, and returning to civilian life. There will be knowledgeable researchers and experts in attendance who can answer your questions and provide help and advice for researching your own relative.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn, reflect, and celebrate the resilience of the human spirit. See you there!
