Frequently asked questions

Why should I consider a day pass?

We've got a whole host of events across multiple venues through the day. The day pass saves you a solid £30 - in comparison to buying tickets for each event separately. Plus it gives you the flexibility to check out multiple events and figure which one you'd rather spend most time in!

What's the difference between a pass for the Block Party vs the Day Pass

The Day Pass gives you access to all events on the 12th of July including the Block Party. This can give you the flexibility to go between venues. The Block Party ticket only gives you access to this one venue (De Beauvoir Block) that is hosting three performances as a part of this party.

How do I get to the festival?

We've partnered up with FOREST BIKES who are offering festival attendees 30 extra minutes of riding time and we encourage you to take public transport. The closest stations are Haggerston, Dalston Junction, Canonbury, Highbury&Islington and Old Street.

We're a family and keen to come to the festival together. How should we plan this?

We’re a family-friendly festival and therefore offer a concession range to ensure everyone’s invited. We welcome children of all ages. Do have a look at the format for each venue to get a sense of what to expect and what seems befitting for your family. The opening night events are 16+

I live locally. What should I expect from this festival?

Great music for starters. Plus, a decentralised festival that makes the most of the neighbourhood's potential and promises a great day of music where everyone is invited. We celebrate our community, our shared spaces, the neighbourhood and the fiercely independent businesses in and around it.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

The Block Party features Albers - a much loved local restaurant that's bringing out the best Cajun Barbecue you can dream of. Plus a great bar also featuring BlackLines cocktails. Don't bring your own food and drink :)

I have a carer/PA - how do I purchase a ticket?

If you require a complimentary PA ticket, please purchase a ticket for yourself ONLY. Having done so, pls send us an email with your ticket order number and a complimentary PA ticket will be available at site. Both steps essential and free carer ticket only valid when accompanyingmain ticket holder

Who's organising this?

Payal, is a local resident and the founder of this festival. Pete Horsfall is the Artistic Director and an internationally renowned jazz musician.

Do you have concession tickets available?

Yes! Kids under 10 go free. Concessions (20% off ticket price) available for : Children between 11- 15 | Over 65s | Students at music schools/colleges (will need ID) | Those with disabilities and access requirements

Join us on the 11-12th July 2025

We're a community-centric jazz festival at multiple venues in De Beauvoir Town. This neighbourhood sits between Hackney and Islington in London.

This year, expect local and top-tier musicians, from stages like Ronnie Scott's & Royal Albert Hall as well as some international bands to come together in this vibrant neighbourhood all for the sake of ensuring we all have a brilliant time.

Expect music in public spaces, the church, local pubs, restaurants and businesses all day long on the 12th of July and join us for an Opening Night on the 11th.

We're a Community Interest Company and we focus on a grassroots approach to cultural production & placemaking. We aim to deepen a sense of place and build new collaborations through music.
