Bleaklow B29 crash site, Doctor's Gate & Longendale Trail Guided Trail Run
Join Finding The Fells for a trail run around Bleaklow and the Longendale Trail. Featuring picturesque valleys, remote moorland and the sombering B29 superfortress wreckage. Whether you've got experience as a trail runner or just starting to leave the tarmac, this event is a great confidence builder.
Ideal for: any runners capable of running the full distance (this event isn't aimed at beginner runners). Pace will be sociable with plenty of pausing to admire the views.
Distance & Elevation: 12.6 miles /1,800ft
Terrain: Flagstones, peat/mud, gravel bridleways.

Route description:
Starting at the east most end of Shepley Street we'll join the Doctor's Gate roman road and follow it towards the Pennine Way before heading up onto the moors to visit the B29 superfortress wreckage at Higher Shelf Stones. From here we'll continue along the Pennine way to descend Torside Clough and take the Longendale Trail westards to Padfield before passing Swineshaw Reservoir on the way back to the start.
Meeting at 8:45am for 9am start.
